Was vtubing a mistake? Artists seem to put anime and manga in the backburner nowadays in favour of vtuber and gacha commissions

Yes. It absolutely was. There is no doubt about it. There will be other posts saying western vtubers are at fault, but they only made it worse.

Doing things "for the art" is a nice meme, but it's not realistic. Artists have to do whatever gets them paid and getting involved in anime production or getting a manga series picked up for serialization is very difficult as a young unknown artist whose resume is his twitter account.

Yeah he's pretty great. Especially the TKMIZ stuff but the vtuber art is nice too.
