>>21997300The problem with his later work imo is that they lack the substance that TTGL had in terms of character growth. I think Promare is trash utterly devoid of any substance so I won't comment on that.
KLK is an amazing show but I feel like the second half is significantly weaker. I dislike that Nui disrupted the monkey rematch despite the hype that it had gotten. Moments like
Ryuko being corrupted and Satsuki having to put on Ryuko's outfit were cool on their own but failed to tie to any overarching narrative. Also the ending felt very unsatisfactory in that Nui was essentially Ryuko's major antagonist yet
gets absorbed into Disco Milf without any closure. Funnily enough I felt like the OVA that focused on Disco Milf's assistant actually had better closure than the actual series since it was more character focused.
The structure of TTGL into 3 acts, each of which gives Simon a person to learn from (Kamina, Nia, Rossiu) culminating into his growth as a leader felt very satisfying and straightforward.
