People often like watching the girls simply because they're girls which can make them be somewhat interesting while doing normally uninteresting things.
Guys don't have this privilege - they actually have to be more exceptional (or at least original) in the things they do, at the very least only during the "getting popular" period. It might be fine for them to stop doing more interesting stuff after they've already gotten popular enough.
So far, Fuma simply isn't doing anything special so I'm not at all surprised that he isn't more popular.
