>I think there's a real problem in the Vtubing community of people jumping on drama and feeling the need to express their opinion without understanding anything. Well, not just the Vtubing community, but every community.
>For those of you who heard about the recent Mikeneko thing with Genshin, do you think Nanase is a streamer?
>If so, you've been misinformed (the "streamer" thing started from a random post on /vt/) and really should not be saying your opinion when you don't have basic facts right. Nanase is a random Genshin Player that started March 2022 and played for a few weeks. There is 0 mentions of being a streamer in Japanese. Yet for some reason people in the west think Nanase is a streamer.
>To be honest, that should be reason enough this sort of "drama" shouldn't be discussed, people just get it from 2nd hand sources that aren't reliable, don't know either the language nor the whole picture, and then make random judgements.
>I don't think there's a point to clarifying the situation, it should just end here with you either saying "I don't know Japanese" or "I didn't myself look at the tweets so I don't know" and no further responses happening, but here, for sake of the truth, I'll clarify.
>For reference, Mikeneko's fans asked politely in keigo for Nanase to take down the tweet because it was causing misunderstandings that Mikeneko herself was asking people to sell accounts, and Nanase apologized for using her hashtag but said they would only take it down if Mikeneko herself asked. For reference, the people asking for accounts to be sold were organized by Mikeneko antis on discord who also self-describe thsemselves as they won't stop being antis until she gets stabbed. For reference, there were also random Genshin players who did think Mikeneko herself was asking people to sell their accounts to her and false rumors spreading because of the tweet, and Mikeneko responded to one of them saying it was false. Since Nanase said they wouldn't take the tweet down unless Mikeneko herself asked, Mikeneko herself did ask Nanase to take down their tweet and to tweet it again without #mikeneko to avoid misunderstandings. Nanase did so. Nanase then decided they would stop playing Genshin. A genshin fan decided to attack Mikeneko over Nanase's decision by implying it was her fan's fault, Mikeneko responds with how she was forced to be brought into this because Nanase would not take the tweet down unless Mikeneko herself would tweet at Nanase and how Nanase made some deleted tweet(s) provoking her fans. Nanase then claimed in response to not have made provoking tweets, after someone replied with a screenshot of such a deleted tweet apologized for the provoking tweet and corrected themselves; and asked people to stop attacking Mikeneko for this. Nanase latest tweet (account now privated) was saying how the reason they decided to stop playing Genshin was partly because of everyone using this as an excuse to try to throw Mikeneko out of the Genshin community.
>Anyway, none of this should matter. To you. At all. None of this at all should matter in any capacity. It only matters because you all treat Mikeneko as a zoo exhibit for drama. Partly so you can make a witty comment at her expense or some moral judgement to make yourself feel better. Really she was just trying to play Genshin like a normal livestreamer, but it's because so many unrelated people care about judging her and attacking her for their own amusement over literally every single breath she takes that every minor thing somehow blows up extremely out of proportion and becomes what she has to listen to daily. So if I could give you advice, please stop. It's not relevant to you. Or at the very least learn Japanese.
