>>22369038Hard disagree here, there are plenty of soloq pubstars making into comp play. Aqua has no custom experience but this doesn't mean her soloq gameplay and skills doesn't translate into custom matches at all.
Aqua's team has various issues.
1. The lack of firepower. In vsaikyo, you either want a balanced team or at least your second player to be decent and can stand on his own. Suisei is a beginner and towa is a support player who can't frag on her own (she is too used to playing the 3rd utility player). Once aqua gets downed, the whole team crumbled (same issue with gorilla's team). Even if they get into the final round, they simply do not have enough firepower to win fights or force people out of position.
2. POI. The spot they choose has good loot but it is more suitable for edge fighting team. With their low firepower, there isn't much tactics they can do. I can only think of looting all the best gear, play edge and slowly rotate into the ring while picking fights they can win while avoiding the more sweaty teams.
3. Aqua is playing too many roles on her own. She is igl while playing the scout/flank/fragger role, covering towa in dome fights and sometimes even have to be loot transporter. It doesn't help that towa is questioning or debating her calls. It is probably a lot of effort and tiring to do everything on her own. She's likely gonna burn out after this tournament.
I myself am a soloq predator who formed a team with other preds and made it into the algs challenger circuit 3rd round recently. Objectively, she isn't worse than any of us, she just lacks custom experience. I won't even mind her on my team, she automatically does a lot of things on her own like scouting and support fire without the need of igl.
