the reason something is a normie thing is because it appeals to the most amount of people and a lot of normal people consume it.
comic book fans are niche fans but comic book movie fans are normie fans but the comic book fans only affect the normie stuff at this point by buying the good stories so the domino effect has the movies adapt said stories for the normies.

hololives closed system keeps retention up and yabes down but it also means they arent really contributing to the growth of the industry other then being the ones brute forcing with big numbers as influence which has begun to not be as effective because everyone who was interested already knows and does or doesnt care.
