Imagine the next dali lama having to be anonymous so they use a v-tuber avatar LOL. It sounds amazingly absurd but the human components of religion cannot be ignored yet the dangers of allowing the CCP to know the Dali Lama are great.

Unfortunately according to the traditions of Tibetan Buddhism the next Dalai Lama isn't going to be the "real" one probably.
Long story short the Dalai Lama reincarnates with his friend, the Panchen Lama, whose job it is to identify the next incarnation of the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama identifies his incarnation, and the current Dalai Lama named the next Panchen Lama as this one random Tibetan kid. Well, shortly thereafter, he was kidnapped by the Chinese government and never fucking heard from again. After that, China basically named some random guy as the new Panchen Lama. This is presumably so that he can name some other random guy the next Dalai Lama.
Anyway yeah the whole religion of Tibetan Buddhism is going to either change drastically or end whenever the current Dalai Lama dies.

So far there’s only been 14 Dalai lamas, but they have not all lived as long as the current. The first two were given post-death, while the 4th Dalai died in his late twenties under debated circumstances. The 6th was kidnapped killed at a similar age, and the 9th died at age 9. From the 9th to the 12th their lives were short, but not much to insinuate murder
