After debut, /hlgg/ and /who/, the other big Council split, were under constant siege. Since the other Council splits were mostly dead, /infinity/ became the defacto place to talk about Council. The popularity let the writefags get big egos and start naming each other. This gave the thread a culture of namefaggotry, which let the real namefags slip in and slowly rot the thread from the inside out.
Once the raids calmed down, the other Council fanbases came here or returned to their own splits, leaving /infinity/ with a ton of namefags and, due to Kronii's schedule, little to discuss. Given free time, a /vt/ thread will always resort to one of two timefillers: timeloops or hornyposting. /infinity/ picked the second, and when you combine a culture of namefags and hornyposting, you get ERP shit.
