I will say, as a longtime user of the site, that the murmurings about the quality across the board having gone down since 2015-2016 are pretty accurate. There's less OC than there used to be on practically every board and the contrarians got much, much lazier. But despite that, I still feel like this is one of the more enjoyable places to post on the Anglophone internet. You just need to make a concerted effort to participate in discussions that you feel are worth participating in and learn how to not get your goat gotten by the people that have nothing better to do than stir shit up on this website.
You say you want to be a vtuber. Do you read /wvt/ and /asp/? They can be alright sometimes. If that's something you really want to do then you should pursue it.
Just try to make a positive contribution to the website and and respond in good faith whenever you get the chance to do so.
