So now that her APEX arc is over, did any of you who never watched her before/had her subscribed decided to give her a chance? Just curious since she had so many viewers and a significant sub growth if she managed to retain at least some fans now that its over.

I really enjoyed her solo masters run but I can't shake the feeling that she isn't very honest. She wanted Towa to igl because of her introverted nature but she is actually very confident in apex so it just lead to a huge mess where the 2 of them clashed.
I don't like how she begged Suisei to join this fucking tournament and in the end Suisei cried. Towa cried the day before because of the pressure of playing with so many people watching her. It felt like she was just using her teammates to get in the lobby so she can go on a rampage but she doesn't understand how these other teams with their pro coaches are really tough to beat with the solo mindset.

A shame teams with less skill than them overall got better placements than them. Oh no, wait, that's because this is an tournament game, not a casual (yes, ranked is also casual) where you can do whatever. There's only so far skill can lead you without the team working together. Towa got 10th place last VSaikyou when she played with both Noah and Ars, even though their teamwork was far from the best, and yes, they did have a coach. As fun as it might have been in general, I feel sad for Towa, because she's one of the long standing players of vsaikyou and I doubt she was happy with this placement, specially because she had to carry 2 dead weights.

I watched aqua and some other POV's, like astel, kuzuha, reid and sumire.
yes, aqua's team choked hard but it's not a big deal to me as if I wanted to see the most insane performance I'd just watch itztimmy or SEN lou or something on twitch, overall had a lot of fun watching this whole tournament and hope there's another one

She could have easily at worst done a setup where Towa acted as an in-between so at least Suisei could get coaching. That move for sure screwed her whole team.

I watched her on and off even before but I finally remembered to subscribe due to solo masters and will continue attending on and off.
Sadly timezones + inconsistency + language filter me pretty hard but sure, I'd watch her again when she's doing something interesting.
I also have been catching more VSPO streams these days, haven't really picked favorites yet but they're a good group.

Honestly what I hate the most is how Aquafags try to downplay Towa.
Towa knows what she's doing. Her mechanical skill might be lower but she knows how to play the game. Aqua and Suisei don't know how to play tournaments and it fucked her over hard because she plays at a higher level but Aqua and Suisei were playing at a pub level where all that matters is mechanical skill.

The goal of vtuber is not to win tourneys but to win over fans. Aqua/Towa/Suisei created huge level of hype of out nowhere. These two weeks were seriously entertaining, even to me who fucking hate apex.

I agree with this. I don't even watch or like Apex but followed Hal and watched the scrims/tournament, Startend has lots of charisma, fans, and more importantly, clips. They became a mini celebrity dream team and I want to see how this develops but I wouldn't be surprised of they keep being talked about in the coming weeks or months.

Aqua's growth is basically the potential she had if she streamed daily/consistently. She was always the top holo but got overshadowed by many others because they streamed often/daily.
I guarantee you if she streamed everyday like what pekora does, Aqua would be the top vtuber.
But she's moving away from streaming and more for promotional activities, sponsors and being an idol.

Startend poi being climatizer and team composition basically means they can only do edge fighting (doesn't help majority rings are west side) but edge fighting won't work if you have only one firepower. It's like trying to fit square pegs into round holes. Props to gorilla for changing his team comp to suit his team strengths and poi. Ditching all his deadweight teammates to survive once both of them are downed is what i hope aqua did too.

Who's your oshi? I know Aqua praised Kuzuha's team a few times during both the scrims and the tournament but she also praised some other male players.

If you want to check out Aqua's concerts Aquairo in Wonderland was really good, it had a unique setting and the production value was amazing, she sang all of her original songs (seven) plus the typical idolesque songs. Seaside Aquafes is worth a watch if you're looking for a more atypical setlist.

Well if you watch Aqua's POV then you'd notice that she didn't even know they were chasing her since neither Towa or Suisei were looking at the direction of the house. It was a pretty bad teamplay there, and they have nobody to blame but themselves, but calling it a 'Noah 1v1 Aqua' is a fucking stretch no matter how you look at it when the other party doesn't even try to take out her guns and simply focused on running back to the portal.

Not every 1v1 has a referee with a starting pistol. She was in a 1v1 whether she realized it or not. Then she decided to run instead of fight. That's bad decision making. I honesty don't even know why she reacted that way, since in ranked and scrims she would've just fought.

He also shot his Peacekeeper, only that it missed. If she tried to hold her ground then instead of dying to only Noah's Wingman she would die to that plus Ebio's Peacekeeper. She was fucked the moment nobody warned her that Noah and Ebio was jumping down from the roof which led her to think that she's safe and tried to heal instead of immediately going back through the portal.

She did call for them to enter before she started healing, then she noticed 2 people running to her direction and deemed it a lost cause trying to share the house and immediately shouted for them not to enter it, then she got knocked down. Towa and Suisei were just way too far from the initial portal opening spot, which if they're near it then they would've spotted Noah and Ebio jumping down and told Aqua about it so she could immediately go back.

Only one round did the final ring actually matter to them, and even if it looks chaotic and unpredictable to you, it's way more than just "hoping" that you place high enough when the final ring is closing.
That's what the coaches are for, because they know exactly how to navigate that chaos and secure a path to champion long before the fighting even happens.

From what I've seen watching other tournaments, placement is the top priority. However, if the zone doesn't work out in your favor or circumstances led your team to have a bad spot in the last rings, the IGL has to make a choice to either keep trying to push for a high placement or play for KP to boost your score if you're anticipating a low placement. If it's the latter, the final rings become a game of how to secure kills in the safest way possible so you can both boost your score and possibly kill your way up the placements. Is my understanding of tournament strats right?

Honestly the fault in their late rotations are probably their own landmark (Climatizer) far in northeast with bunch of spot to loot and their neighbor in Survey Camp. All 5 rings were on the east side of the map, that means most of the time they needed to pass through Epicenter and/or Survey Camp.
Their comp is designed to play around the edges until Ring 2 finished closing up then use the survey beacon to check Ring 4 and fly with Valk ult to the strongest spot, but sadly Met's team in Survey Camp also play the similar style, that's why they always ended up fighting and made both sides miserable (Met's team placed last in the tournament). Pakael's team didn't have much trouble with this strat in Lava City because Reid's team always rotate fast into Lava Siphon from Big Maude, since Reid knows that a Caustic-Crypto comp used by Akina's team will definitely rotate faster than them and leave Lava Siphon open pretty quick.

For some reason both of them were unironically looking at the same side, which is pretty stupid. You could look at both the tunnel and Survey Camp alone by just crouching near this big rock shown in this timestamp here and have the other one to act as cover for the offensive portal. Simply put they kinda sucked at doing their job.

Looks like it's partly because Aqua started the portal far from them and they didn't listen to her commands immediately.
Suisei actually left the portal at the perfect time to unload on the Noah's team's backs but she's already been told to go back and Towa's too far to back her up.

their landmark was a really bad choice when in the first customs they were really solid defending but sucked at rotating, specially if playing edge, from the start. most rings in this map are in the southern half and and the rest on the west side, ~10% of final rings land around the NE side where climatizer is
