Esportsfags are used to their favorite team losing, it happens quite often. So this isn't really anything new to them.
But Esports teams aren't anime girls, and most of them don't make anime arcs about their tournament runs.
The VOD obviously grew by at least 2x as well, that's a LOT of new eyes on you who may not even have known of hololive before.
They've already gotten a lot of numbers from this tournament, and probably a few new fans as well.
