PT Indofood is owned by the Indonesian Salim group, Salim group is owned by Hong Kong's First Pacific, so it's owned by HK? Wrong. First Pacific is an investment company, they have portfolio in various companies, but the majority of the shares is owned by Liem, an Indonesian. The reason why it's located in HK is because Indonesian companies are forbidden to invest in other countries' stock, but that's not the case if it's located in Hong Kong, they will have an easier time to invest in various stocks in Asia and USA, and the tax in places like HK and Singapore is very low. In the end, the majority shareholder is still the Liem family.
