It's run by MangaGamer, a Japanese company, so I'm guessing it's easier to hire locally, rather than going through the hoops of hiring overseas.

Though since they do distribute globally they probably have overseas offices and employees, so who knows, it could be run by one of their department overseas.

Since they primarily speak in English, it was probably easier for the company to hire English speakers who know some Japanese, rather than the other way around. I can't tell if their Japanese has an accent or not.

I was thinking a dual route RPG where the sisters get transported to a fantasy world, but they get split up at the beginning, so you choose one to play as and you gather party members in the kingdom you end up in to go on a quest to search for and rescue the other sister.

Based on the recent marshmallow stream, Makoto really really really doesn't want to go back to working at a konbini, or at a sushi place or possibly work at a cafe, if she loses this job. She even mentioned they threatened to hit her if she couldn't remember the different names of the sushi at the sushi place. She doesn't even want to even think of that possibility. She got really depressed while answering that question.
And if I'm not wrong Akira mumbled something about wanting to finish school but not being able to if they lose this job, during the question.

I'm not implying theyre gonna slut it up or something like that. I just mean they wouldn't need to be worried so much about possibly saying or showing something MG might not approve of. They've played Kara no Shojo which is most definitely not all-ages. (but they needed to bring up the censor for the 18+ stuff, because YouTube). It's really only limited if they're able to get permissions to stream the game and if they want to play it. They're currently juggling quite a few games currently, so it might be a while before we see a new VN picked up that isn't just a one-off game.

Most recently Makoto played Phasmophobia solo because Akira got hurt and couldn't make a stream. Its been a few months since their actual solo playthroughs of games but Makoto played through Katamari Damacy and Akira played through a little of Recettear.

maybe even ones where you can't hide for more than 1-2 mins or something

Would be even better if Makoto conspired with Eina-sensei to do something really spooky to Akira IRL in the middle of the stream. Like maybe Makoto hiding the whole time somewhere in the room and then popping out right when Akira has reached her max fear levels and she just runs screaming out of the room.

It'd be like that old gif where some dude is playing a PC game but unbeknownst to him, his friend or brother is hiding underneath the desk. His friend/bro then starts to crawl out from underneath and the guy just goes into some kind of shock or temporary insanity and enters fight or flight mode and he grabs the monitor and throws it out the window and uses it as an exit to GTFO of the room.
