In fact, now that things like the Internet has brought us things like webtoons, the matter of a story being presented in grayscale or color is largely irrelevant. From now on, Marvel and DC either will lose their value over time as they circle their brands down the drain of irrelevance or they will end up forced to adapt to the new digital business models that will actually improve the collective worth of their stories.
