This is the second graduation in JP after the Meiji one due to health reasons. Graduations are common in this industry and are no different than a employee getting out of a company after years working on them, people will left the companies for different reasons. Graduations for such a big company was always going to be the norm. Just from the fact that standard employee turnover rate would mean at least half a dozen livers are likely to graduate every year. Also, let's not sugarcoat it, having this many talents ultimately means that not everyone is gonna get funding or be pushed. Some fans cope by saying at least so-and -so was part of NijiFes or some big companywide event so that totally means they're getting taken care of but the truth is those people are more filler than anything. No different from the mob characters that are there to populate the world that revolves around the Mitos, Kuzuhas and Kanaes of the company. This was ultimately the end result of Nijisanji's company philosophy of "everyone can be a vtuber" and "Nijisanjification". Getting into Nijisanji in the current day is only slightly more special than getting into Neo Porte or VSPO.

I follow her roommate, and I think this is true. I mean as a base metric, the fact that she can publish her own original music every couple months and get upwards of 100k views and her music on youtube has gotten over a million listens on Apple Music and hundreds of thousands to over a million on Spotify shows she has a pretty sustainable music career on her own. Sure she could ride on the back of Nijisanji's success and MAYBE one day get a good opportunity from them, but she doesn't really need it anymore.

Their personal account makes enough money on streaming services to financially support herself with music, which is the only reason they joined Nijisanji in the first place(couldn't pursue music because they had to work all the time to support themselves so being a vtuber would give them a job that also allowed them to pursue it). Now that their music does well enough to support them on their own, there's not really a reason to do both unless you think you'll become the absolute top dog of the company and make millions of dollars(which likely won't be the case for the large majority of JP livers). Melissa can still live comfortably and make music on their own so there's not really a point wasting your time with Nijisanji especially considering Nijisanji doesn't seem to care about any "newer" music talent since they can just keep giving Rain Drops events and be perfectly fine.
