"British" is soispeak instilled in people today to make the lesser denizens of that group of islands feel better about their position. The BBC even bans the use of the term "England" in isolation and certainly bans the term "English" today since every poo, paki, nigger or other economic migrant trash might make to England get hooked on welfare and "become British" but they can never become English and so the latter is banned from discourse.
