You may not get it but I felt really betrayed when they changed Okayu's VA. I know she wasn't confident with her voice but it was unique and good in its own way. I miss her.

Sure. She never liked her voice. She's talking in a bit higher pitch nowadays. This is both due to her wanting to sound cuter for her fans and not liking her old voice. Not much else to it.

If the nips prefer a higher pitch Okayu then my opinion of their taste will somehow lower even deeper. Okayu has the sexiest voice in hololive easily.

It’s not only because japs didn’t like her voice. That obviously helped as they don’t seem to like that kind of voice (Towa is another example). Okayu herself wanted to sound cuter. She wants to be cuter for her fans and that’s why she’s doing it; she doesn’t seem to like her cool voice that much as it’s not cute but cool.

It's not even all about sounding cute either. She was actually forcing her voice down in the early days and even had a coach tell her it wasn't all that deep.
I don't know if her current voice is her natural pitch but the one OP remembers definitely wasn't it.

I always thought that masculine voice was her natural voice or at least closer to that as she uploaded to her Twitter an audio where she just woke up and had raspy voice and the raspy voice was pretty close to her voice at the time. Honestly I find both voices really hot (same goes for Towa). The idea of sexing a girl with a voice like that is arousing… or maybe letting myself get fucked by them.

Sounding cute is a big deal in otaku culture, cool sounding girls (which western viewers prefer) are looked down upon.

Towa, Polka, Botan are all kind of ostracized a little bit by the fans, because of their voices.

Every time I watch Okayun she’s having the time of her life and in her mengens she’s happily flirting with her onigiriyas so I think it’s a good change for her. If she’s happy then nothing else matters really. She puts real effort for her onigiriyas so seeing her as happy just means she’s getting the reception she wants and she’s happy for it, so I’m glad.
