Your probably thinking of what is known as a wide vocal range, which would allow someone to perform a larger variety of Operatic vocals and thus be able to play more roles. As I recall , Polka mentioned that she recently got her vocal range measured professionally for her idol practice. And she measured a span of 4 octaves.
