Vox already had something on the same level or worse (that time he used the Chinese flag for a thumbnail and then removed it before the stream, picrel), and the overwhelming response from his CN fans was "He doesn't know, it's not his fault, don't let this become a problem for him."
That's how these things work. If they hate you they'll warp innocent things into huge problems (like what they did for Coco), and if they like you they'll bend over backwards to justify your behavior (like what they did for Fubuki until she openly supported Coco). Not saying there's no potential risk of course, and in his position I wouldn't try to pander to them, but it's not nearly as volatile as the people on this board think. Even with Hololive, it's worth remembering they had years of being MASSIVELY popular on BiliBili with only minor issues (like Choco getting banned).
