Instead of graduation, they should do something like rebirth potion, when the roommate want to resign they drink that potion on stream and will forget everything like newly debut (aka change roommate)

Not pratical, a someone/company would first have to start the trend, if it isn't taken well, that's most likely the end of it. First i think you should imagine a vtuber you really like, how would you feel if the character is now a completely different person? How would you feel now that your Vtuber acts and in a complete different manner? It can absolutely work and it's not a foreign concept, but rather unlikely to become a trend

who look up to great ones
act or behave in similar fashion
but paving their own way while carrying torch of great ones

I think this idea could only work like that one anon who had the idea of a doctor who vtuber. Hire an incredibly good artist to design a vtuber and let your fans know that by the end of the year the VA will retire and a new one will take it's place. You could add slight changes to the costume and scout out specific actors or people in theatre to play the role. But besides that I don't see any other way working besides maybe some company mascot like crunchyroll getting a new VA.

It's a good idea for the one selling. The buyer has the problem of communicating to any old viewers the change. They also might have to worry about the seller coming a knocking if the buyer makes it big.

I wonder if things could be different in brighter scenario
lets say the vtuber decided to resign for personal reasons, and he still want his model to live on

could he opt for changing roomate? I mean would fanbase accept this? or take it very badly?
(there is literally nothing wrong with the company or management, the vtuber just want his favorite model to live on)
