They are like Goku(Holo) and Vegeta(Niji).
The story presents the as constantly competing and outplaying one another but when the thing turns real Vegeta is always BTFO'd and Goku is the one that does all the heavy lifting.
And Vshoujo is Gohan, supposed to be the next protagonist but the fanbase hates them so they ended up as secondarie characters.
