Every year, have only a few titles worth playing (if that), and you can make good content for only a few dozen hours out of each. So when your business is reacting to video games, you are kind of fucked.
They could revisit older titles, or join a niche community of a multiplayer game, to stream about, but each is limited in viewers.
Each vtuber is probably facing their own mortality, that they are ultimately just girls, and other than their holes, and breeding, they are not that interesting, each of them are just dicount Pekora-s, and their streams have diminishing returns, especially as they age.
Honestly at least some of them, should try to be racist political commentators (on other platforms, since youtube would not allow it), because listening to anime girls, talking in broken english, about current day politics, economics, and dropping racial slurs would be hilarious, refreshing, and it is a demand that have not yet been fulfilled.
