Nah nevermind, the truth may be said. I also feel like what you described is the case for most people who stop looking. Often they will say that "It's just not worth the effort". And maybe they have a point. They will often use fairly good arguments to stop trying but really they are just elaborate, well thought out excuses. Deep down everyone wants to have someone to truly call their own. Both men and women are in a dire state. Not a lot of long term material around these days but good people, who are worth the effort, still exist. Best way to meet these people is to try your best to be a good person because kind seeks kind. And even if your effort might not be rewarded, that's not an excuse not to try and keep trying.
