The other thing is fans of vtubers don’t make it their whole identity. They’re just another streamer we happen to watch. A different type of streamer, but fundamentally the same as other streamers. Whereas bronies were as much a cult as a fandom from what I saw. There isn’t even an equivalent term for vtubers fans - we’re just fans of vtubers. As opposed to “brony” which is a label and form of actual self-identification.
The two things are totally different. You can’t compare.
