He is a one off and the female viewer base is a small and weird group of people.

Male viewers always to some degree have a feeling of connection or relationship to the chuuba they are watching and chatting to.
The only thing that changes when they lean into the paradoxical aspect more is that the viewers can develop unhealthy parasocial feelings or think that it is something that it’s not.
Doesn’t change views or subs much.
Increase donations at the cost of taking advantage of fans and possibly inviting yabs.

No he is a unique case.
He has a good model and a good voice and has been able to basically reel in all of the Fujos to his channel.
The Fujo viewer base is much smaller and he pretty much has them to himself.

All viewers have some level of relationship to the chuubas they’re watching.
They spend time watching them and they chat to/with them during the stream.

Pushing the GFE and fake relationship stuff doesn’t bring more views or subs. It possibly brings more donations at the cost of taking advantage of fans and ending up in Russia style drama.

The great irony here is that the strongest pro-male proponents want it for several reasons.

a.) because they're naive 12 year olds physically or mentally who want the category to exist because they have retarded dreams to become a vtuber and join Hololive and groom their oshi, they'd be fine degrading Holo's quality significantly to improve their chances of scoring with their oshi from 0% to something tangible, even though in reality it's still basically gonna be 0% because they specifically screen holostars for groomers and monitor you for such behavior.

b.) they're butthurt at Holo's success being from pandering to idolfags and want anything to try to prove them "wrong" even though Holo already proved this is the most successful method

c.) they think it's "owning the incels" and are anti-GFE even though they spend dozens of hours a week watching a girl be cute and have lmao no idea what they're even doing here mentally. maybe they want to try to make the hobby more cool/mainstream/acceptable - no, it fucking isn't just because dudes are in it.

d.) they think male holos = verbatim reskins of their favorite regular twitch ecelebs

Vox proving that the way to go is to pander to BFE hardcore sellout, ignore Hololive and be fucking outright unwatchable to the average straight dude who wanted ecelebs aka brotubers is a nice little package of reality spiking them in the eye.
