A little parenthesis about "overdesign", or excessive showing off in the vtuber community.
Take a look at this shit. Snuffy was a simple concept and design. A Raccoon girl, and that was perfect. Then she decided "let's have megaboobies!!!", and now... what the fuck is this eldritch abomination even supposed to be?
Give me back my trash stealing girl.
... and keep the big boobas.

After council debuted and a couple of ttrp sessions VShojo really went hard on fantasy designs. IM Vei Nyanners Silver and Snuffy all have designs like they came from the same world.

1. All of her models are so different from each other that she now has zero brand recognition when it comes to a brand mascot.
Whenever I now see and trash vtuber design, I expect it to sound like snuffy.
2. This design is too busy, doesn't understand basic color theory around earned color and your eyes are not drawn to any one focal point, making it a incoherent mess of a design, especially in motion.
3. Her personality does not fit the new design at all, she is not rebranding her streaming style, she is still going to make jokes about being impregnated by dog semen.

I can keep going on, I actually like snuffy, her 1st rebrand away from her old cat model pushed the industry forward when it came to mouth rigging, this model is a step back, it feels very corporate artist with a severe lack of interesting qualities.

Very true, that. They have big viewerbases but no actual presence in the wider public consciousness because there's no real core identity.

One thing about this design is that it feels like it literally only kept the vaguest raccoon elements out of obligation. She wanted something more goth/dark and out of obligation to the branding that made her blow up had to add an odd coloured raccoon-ish tail and keep ears even though raccoons have no association with "death" whatsoever, which is what she's supposed to be the embodiment of.

Aside from the mischievous expressions, nothing about this fits Snuffy's established personality. Except the weed holding emote that it can do. For the record big tit bimbo Snuffy was terrible too so this has been a downward spiral regardless. Vei also went from great iconic 3D model to kind of generic succubus. As soon as the downgrade succubus starts to settle in my mind as being "Vei" she switches to some uglier water dragon girl looking shit and a new model that's only remotely good because it references her original 3D design. Melody's 3D model is iconic even if it's kind of weird and jank looking whereas her live 2D is completely hideous. Juniper Actias dropped her very cool and beautiful character design with a military aesthetic because of Wehraboo/Nazi autism to become a pure bug bioweapon with annoying as fuck moving mouth parts that are just ugly and distracting. All these girls, even in the latter case who actually designs her own models and rigs them, are perpetually downgrading.

I like this better than her cowtit model. Keep in mind the "original" Snuffy was pretty much a pink Nyanners knockoff. I think she was even a cat, or at least looked more like one than a racoon.
