Even in that brief period before Luxiem exploded in China the girls were already open with them and it was revealed they'd all been chatting in discord for months already, they were gonna force this down the fans' throats whether they wanted it or not. It's kind of dumbfounding how there can be such a distinct lack of tact in how both management and the talents handled this, but it's too late really IMO.
If they introduce more girls (such as a mixed gen which sounds quite possible/likely) and they immediately start gigglesqueeing and glomping the Luxiems, like if their identity is to just be a waiting room hoping for the guys to show up? They're gonna be Reimu tier or worse. Girls who have gumption to be successful of their own volition and aren't asspained normalfags who want to do this jusst to punch down people who dare want cute anime girls while taking their money (despite playing a cute anime girl themselves), probably will just hold out hope for Hololive and think twice about joining Niji these days.
