On the complete opposite end, Fauna's design seemed kinda meh to me at release, but now I think its excellent because I enjoy her content.
But this is actually not new to me. I've experienced this in real-life as well, where I met a girl who I immediately was not attracted to, but after repeated interactions I came to appreciate their personality, whereupon I suddenly found them physically attractive. It's kind of great, because it means that you can overcome first appearances and learn to love a person, at least to a degree.
