Why do people pretend to care about tracing much less be dicks about it?
The only people who trace are children and beginners, they should be encouraged to keep drawing and eventually they'll get tired of tracing and start working on legitimately getting good. Tracing itself shouldn't be encouraged but the attempt should be acknowledged and at worst just ignored. Calling people out will just make you look like you're attacking people with the mental capacity of children.

It does to an extent, but art isn't supposed to be endless improvement. A large part of it is about keeping your motivation up. And for /beg/s that's often tied to tracing or heavily referencing things. It's not improvement but it helps to keep moral high which helps them want to improve later on.

There's a difference between tracing for practice and posting it in the discord of the person you're tracing from, even in the wrong channel, and then denying that you traced it and deleting it as soon as anyone asks questions.
