The fact that so many anons still name Gawr Gura as "the greatest or most significant or most influential" VTuber ever only tells you how far VTubing still is from becoming a serious art. Anime critics have long recognized that the greatest anime of all times are Ping Pong and Cowboy Bebop, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Manga critics rank the highly controversial Berserk over shounen who were highly popular in courts around Japan. VTuber critics are still blinded by commercial success. Gawr Gura sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore she must have been the greatest. Anime critics grow up watching a lot of anime of the past, manga critics grow up reading a lot of manga of the past. VTuber critics are often totally ignorant of the VTuber of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that Gura did anything worthy of being saved.
