It's always packed to the brim with people, couples who are out for a cheap date, people who want some "comfort food," families whose kids are picky eaters. Full of kids running around being loud, angry randoms that wander in off the street and people who leave without paying. The food is good and familiar, consistent, and has a wide appeal.
Across the street is a smaller restaurant that's a little more inconspicuous. It features exotic European cuisine and artisan dishes prepared by an Austrian chef, certainly an acquired taste but the loyal customer base frequently pays $100 for a plate of food. It's lower seating capacity than the larger one across the street, but not as in-demand, no screaming children, first-time customers are infrequent but welcome. Importantly, business is very good here, and has been for years. I wonder, do you think the owner of this restaurant is jealous of the other one?
