The gastroscopy shit being something no vtuber had dont before, making it trend on twitter and drawing in tons of tourists who have no interest in vtubers generally
Easy to get design and character archetype so that new viewers can easily understand everything without needing to know 100 hours of lore, inside jokes and history
Strict adherence to kayfabe along with an entertaining personality. This makes watching Salome more like watching a pre-recorded skit, or an anime character. Kinda like if Aqua from Konosoba suddenly playing video games as a vtuber. No talking about rl stuff, no parasocial interactions with fans, no whining or depressive episodes. Just pure entertainment and nothing else.
NO COLLABS - very important for new user growth, because most of them are tourists and find other vtubers and vtuber culture cringe because the truth is that most of them are just twitch streamers with anime avatars now
None of these people are going to be watching any other vtubers at all so it makes sense that it's a new pool of viewers

With this kind of viewership ads and merch will pay more than intrusive monetization ever could. There are only so many hours in a day to do supacha readings.
Finding talent that can play a character consistently even for an hour a day would be a problem though and I imagine there can only be a few really successful ones before the market is completely dry. Still, it could push corpos to try and reproduce this. It's not like run of the mill seiyuu demand huge paychecks.

Holo hasn't weakned, I'd argue that it's gotten stronger, 21 people had over 10k peaks today compared to Nijisanji's 8.
Her streams aren't worthy of 120k for playing Bio 7 with that jank L2D so it's a complete anomaly in the V world, A one hit wonder.
It'll be interesting to see what happens in a few months time.
Also when she ends her streams not many Nijisanji members get a boost so she's already a closed con with her fanbase.

Her physical merch got sold out at a time and now got restored. Her Welcome voice is now the second in their voice sale ranking surpassing the recent Telephone Voice Pack which included most of Niji livers.

Thing is, what factors into vod processing time is largely the duration of the stream (the longer the stream, the longer the vod will be processed) and its estimated demographic (the more 'global' the demographic, the longer it'd usually take). Well considering that, I find that Desuwa's post processing timenare significantly longer than what I assumed she should be (JP Audience, ~1 hour streams) if compared to her NijiJP peers, and is surprisingly closer to her NijiEN peers

I sincerely think Salome has very little overlap in style and audience with (let's say) Kuzuha, Kanae, Ange, Sasaki, Chihiro and most of the company heavy hitters.
I think she has a huge overlap in style with Toya (for instance), but an even bigger stylistic overlap with the cute girls going cute things across the company borders

Assuming they're really new blood from outside the vtuber sphere, this new audience is not tribalistic and are likely to look around for comparable entertainment. In the odd chance they find it on other companies (Hololive, VSPO, 774 Inc) they won't have any qualms in watching the two of them, the three of them or however many of them.

Usually each of these companies rely on the "box" effect to, well, box the audience in but Nijisanji didn't really cultivate it. It is prime time they start doing so, otherwise they may end up feeding their very competition.
Someone mentioned that Tamaki Daruma interview MAGNIFICENT number might have happened because of a "waiting room effect", people waiting for Salome searching around for something to watch.

Bottom line is: it would be very advisable for Nijisanji to find a way to "box in" the incoming audience otherwise they'll end up growing the whole field instead of just themselves.
