Sure, it's seen as a hobby only for Gundam fans but building one is actually pretty relaxing and you get a cool figurine to display afterwards. It's pretty much a modern puzzle but with even cooler shit because you can watch the series in which your mech came from and discover the lore behind it and it's pilot.
Some even more hardcore builders even go as far as painting the model and adding weathering effects/damaged details to make it seem like it just came from a battle, so there's a pretty high skill-ceiling if you want to polish your builder skills.
Lastly, you can even meet these pro builders on anime conventions where they show-off their custom builds, if you know someone who is a frequent con visitor you can always expect their after photos to have a photo of a gunpla build in their phone somewhere, which means it can be a cool flex if you really get good at it.
There's also the Mechanical Keyboard building which follows almost the same ways i've mentioned above but it's a pretty recent hobby which means the community isn't as huge for now, but you will be able to build a keyboard with your own preference wether it's a loud clicky one, or a silent-but-smooth keyboard for gaming so you don't tire your fingers out or if you're someone who does a lot of typing for a job.
