>>25627239Lag really isn't gonna be a factor in Japan however - it is probably like 5ms slowest between themselves for like 95% of the country, you'd have to have someone not only anal-retentive but pretty much having a superpower to figure out the lag and calculate how much time was lost talking in a minute exchange - in even 20 lines back and forth between yourself and a chuuba in a minute that is 0.1 seconds lost. I'd find it much easier to contemplate holoJPs going to cons because
a.) some of them are otaku and would have possibly gone whether or not Hololive had a feature there
b.) distances. Japan is about the size of California area-wise and most of it is densely compacted - like a third of Japan lives in the Tokyo metro anyway, 20mil more around Osaka (which is like 3-5 hour trip by train/bus/car to tokyo) and that is almost half the country able to attend a con pretty much because they feel like it, with any of the rest able to make it either a day trip or an overnight stay at slowest. The ease/short time/low cost of travel also factors into the otaku thing - even if they're relatively casuals, because it's just there in their backyard and they can do some Holo tie-in thing maybe it's good-enough reason to go.
So lag is maybe a thing more for ENs, but even then, it's still gonna be small unless it's literally world-spanning distance aka mori/kiara/bae/sana over to the US/CA. Even so considering the caliber of how little most of the people there actually-care about the attendant Holos it's hardly fucking worth it at all to actually book a trip then it's like 80% odds a 1-1 guy will barely know your content in the first place.
