>>25660488Oh, it's you. I recognize you now. This is going to sound really weird but we've had this conversation before, last year, when you made a thread. I think the advice at that time was to ignore shitposters because engaging them keeps them going. I understand though that 4chan is a mental poison and just browsing the catalog can be hurtful when you see a thread shittalking someone you have an emotional attachment to. The only advice I can genuinely give is to stop using 4chan because you will spend more time unhappy than not and it will play with your feelings and compel you to have a 4 hour shitposting argument like this. At the very least I'd say stop browsing the catalog. If you're still going to anyways like me because I'm a retard and have a compulsion to defend against shitposts about people I have an emotional attachment to, then I recommend responding constructively, deescalating attempted shitstirring and building up your side while precisely taking fire at the shitposters without stretching your prescriptions too broadly to minimize collateral damage and prevent even more people from jumping into the conflict. I just think that if schizos do things that genuinely upset me and I need to respond, I want to respond to them alone. Console warring hurts everyone, not just the people I'm upset at.
But genuinely there's no point in engaging because at the end of the day it's just going to be sociopaths arguing with sociopaths and the majority of posts in either side of a response chain of an argument are going to be sociopaths attempting to derail any and all conversations into anarchy because they think it's funny. All you can do is put out a good argument and hope that sane people reading it will agree, because you will only get a "lol Holocope Nijisneethe" from anyone else, because most people aren't making these posts in good faith or of sound mind.
Even so, there should be a hierarchy of what is worth responding to.
Never reply: If an anti thread/post genuinely has no substance, like a slogan or catchphrase or meme, then it doesn't even warrant a reply because there's nothing to argue with and its only purpose is to generate engagement. Not replying is the best response to these posts as it contradicts their purpose.
Hard to reply to: If an anti thread/post is opinion-based, it's pretty difficult to really form a good argument because of the inherent subjectivity. In most cases, however, these posters are usually not mentally sound and it ends up being pretty easy to highlight their irrational beliefs. The problem, though, is that many of the people browsing will also be mentally unsound and will find themselves agreeing with the opinions of a madman.
Easy to reply to: If an anti thread/post contains misinformation or is flat-out factually incorrect or lying, it's very easy to reply calling out the lies and backing it up, because it's much harder to argue against concrete evidence. In my experience after this happens, the schizo/anti will disappear from the thread completely and then reemerge in another thread trying to peddle the same shit later until they get called out again.
tl;dr this website sucks, I believe in not making it suck more, and I'm not autistic.
