>>26475087To be honest it's easy to figure out when it's bad and when it's not. In the end whether it depends on whether the person wants that. If a VTuber doesn't want their IRL personality revealed, then obviously it's bad. If they are open about it, it's OK.
The EOP part of the VTuber audience also has a weird perception of the whole thing, and I think it's because of rumors that it can get a VTuber fired (which is bullshit). I think it kinda came with a lot of people not having the full picture of the Aloe situation.
The cynical part of me also thinks that most company VTubers follow that model, because it gives you a better grip on your talents, because they have to take a bigger loss when quitting. Practically it doesn't seem to work that well.
But you still see hololive fans on twitter who do not engage with or promote kson to "protect" her.
Then there is also the aspect whether the community you interact in wants it or not. There it's about immersion.
