those who are exceptionally mentally strong will guide the nerds to become a better person. If you saw your former self as a nerd surely you would want to help yourself? Why not do the same for others? after all they were just like you in the past. maybe someone comes to mind who helped (you) better yourself, you should be more like that person
This is the longform version of "they just bully you because they are insecure", it sounds like a cope but when explained fully it makes more sense
