Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but this is a board for VTubing, so I thought it might be okay to ask here. How do I convince my (male) friend to not become a (female) vtuber? I'm pretty sure he's not a tranny, but hearing him talk about his plans sounds awful. In fact, how do I just convince him to NOT become a VTuber at all?

This isn't your friend's problem this is your problem. Male vtubers have almost no grasp in the medium compared to female vtubers. Also, why do you care if he becomes a vtuber, unless he's endangering himself then its fine if he does it on the side.

If he's spending a lot of money you can tell him most indies aren't successful and even the ones that are probably won't ever get back their inversion. If he still keeps going that means he sees it as a hobby and there's nothing wrong with that, there's hobbies way more expensive than vtubing and you don't see people complaining.

if he's in it for the money, he's not going to make it. the majority of indies struggle but being non-Japanese AND a babiniku is a death sentence. JPs at least have their own network to help each other but there's nothing that that for non-Japanese vtubers
