>>2666497I feel that in the west right now, male streamers and general video content creators don't need the vtuber angle to secure success. Many dudes get big just having a particular set of skills or having a personality that attracts a lot of people. They don't need the looks and much of their audience is likely male anyway. The only ones who might have more female viewers don't do it with gaming content. It's usually "metrosexual" content or Youtube Rewind-grade normie shit.
On top of that, male content creators are generally more reckless by either Hololive standards or general standards. Some of them even got big because of that, but others also got in trouble because of it too. Doesn't help that male western 'tubers and streamers have prebuilt antis in the form of power tripping postmodern social activists who reward each other's predatory behavior. I could easily see a HolostarsEN his mole hills made into mountains by someone nefarious in their personal life and the social activists won't let it die because they want to trip. I'm sure some perticular crazies would love to do it too just out of their general disdain for vtubers.
Overall, it just seems too high a risk for Hololive and the reward seems dubious for both Hololive and potential western male candidates.
