I honestly expect to see Salome surpass Gura eventually. I've noticed that the faster you accelerate out the gates, the greater your momentum going forward is even if you do taper off a lot. It's why Gura has just continued to get further and further ahead of everyone. However Salome, as much as I hate her, because she botted so hard had twice the acceleration as Gura.

Thus, I do expect just due to that momentum caused by that initial acceleration, that she'll pass Gura before 5M, assuming something doesn't happen to cause Gura to go viral again before then.

What are you talking about? Salome's growth is getting slower and currently on the same level as Kobo.
The most likely scenario is she would recline hard before 2M because her audiences are from the oversaturated JP market.

JP-only vtubers will never reach the amount of subs as the most popular EN vtubers due to the much larger audience pool and while momentum helps bring you to people's attention thanks to algorithms, there needs to be a reason for those people to sub or watch you. From having been bombed with clips of hers, I can say I saw no reason to sub or even watch any more of them. Very mediocre. Hell, there are more entertaining people in Nijisanji alone.
