K-Pop and shitty doramas aside, Korean culture hasn't been able to produce anything worthwhile in terms of pop culture, and China's biggest cultural export right now is fucking Genshin Impact which may as well be Japanese due to artstyle etc.
Japan is a pop culture powerhouse right next to USA and they will stay untouchable in this regard for a long time.

AKB48 used to be Japan exclusive, then it spread to Indonesia (successful) and China (failed). Now there are 48group branch in Thailand and the Philippines.

Similarly, Hololive decided (in response to Niji) to expand to China (failed) and Indonesia (successful), but they also decided to expand to the English-speaking world.

Use specific words anon, if you meant that there should not be any expansion to the English speaking world, yeah you're right. But Japanese cultural export to Asia has been a thing for a long time.
