A thread for aspiring vtubers! Whether your goal is to make the journey as an independent streamer or to gain experience and build a portfolio for agency auditions. Let's help each other grow and make it. Indies are welcome to selfpost, but shill responsibly. Share your knowledge, insights, feedback, discuss what has worked and what hasn't worked for you. And always remember to do your research before posting personally identifying information. That includes both in this thread and in your audition applications to agencies.

Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

I had a lot of fun today, also sort of still proud of the thing i made. It's one of the few times i was genuinely feeling like i accomplished something even if it was low effort and easy to do. Also first time i tasted a proper amount of alcohol and all i can say is, it's not that interesting. Unless i'm supposed to down the entire bottle of rum. Also my voice get's pretty bad under the influence. I won't be drinking any more i think. It's just not for me. Thanks to anyone who still tolerates me.

I know it's difficult, but if you see anyone you feel like you could get along with you can reach out to them.
Don't go into it thinking you need to land a hit right away. If you look for emotional support, it's something that every single person has only a finite amount to give and it's usually allocated across the people they already know. But in a few cases there's people like you who are afraid to reach out or wait for an opportunity to get invested into someone like that. Maybe that includes your friend too but he isn't sure it's what you want because you aren't communicating well (this is just conjecture on my part). The most important part is to be honest and upfront. Say what you want and be forward with it. Sometimes it's better laying your cards on the table so other people know what hand they are dealing with rather than have both parties tap in the dark and potentially never find each other emotionally.
Also consider if what you are looking for isn't more akin to what people would call a relationship or generally something more intimate.
tl;dr if not already done, open up to your friend about your thoughts and if he doesn't feel comfortable giving you what you want, just stay friends as you have been and try to reach out to other people. Hope you can find the special somebody you are looking for...

I'm gonna start leaning into a specific niche now after i already streamed for months but it's gonna be a lot harder to get people to watch me now. He's got everything turned off and curates an extremely tight community and his mods are RIDICULOUSLY ban happy. I'm an artist and I commission other artists because I love art and I know that everyone loves art. More art for everyone, everyone wins! Ok /asp/ies i have a little question regarding the art for a live 2d. I have seen a lot of tutorials on live2d cubism but most of them skip on how to make art that's more convenient to rig. For example, in what dimmensions has the canvas to be? wich way would be the best to separate the layers, shading in one layer or separate layers and so on.
