Japanese, Spanish (and its Latin based contemporaries) are great because of their generally rigid structure, which makes them easy to understand, but they also lose out because they lack the flexibility (especially Japanese). Ultimately, it all boils down to whether or not you understand American English well enough for it to matter, but when you do, you will appreciate just how neat it is for music.
