Because it retroactively makes the series feel worse. It's better for a franchise to feel like a cohesive well-written piece than to be dragged through the mud through bad writing decisions made purely to drive up sales because brainlets like you will just eat up whatever Yokotaro and Toriyama shit out because you lack any of critical thinking outside of "haha le epic fighting scene"
