ID weeb culture is rather big since at least late 1990s and early 2000s. The story goes that the 1998 Asian Financial Crisis made ID tv stations unable to buy licences for western cartoons, and therefore they buy anime licenses. Some might only know Doraemon, but a lot knows Detective Conan, Digimon, Beyblade, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.
I honestly don't know how weeb SG is, so honestly I lack data to give context to your 1% SG vs 1% ID. If ID weeb culture cause 3% compared to 1% SG for example, that means there are 3 times percentage ID sultans than SG sultans.
Whereas IN, let me put it this way. Someone once said, "if your country still thinks that Anime is cartoon, you're not gonna get far establishing JP culture company in that country".
Also, NijiIN debacle was already famous here in /vt/, but less known was the planned 48 group expansion to India, DEL48 (as in, Delhi48, completely cancelled) and MUB48 (Mumbai48, will debut "soon"). Japanese culture will not work in India....
