Logistics of this is hard, as the VAs are generally busy.

My idea would be to make an original character from an anime’s universe and have the talent be a total otaku of said anime to easily get into kayfabe.

Anime titles were expected to tie into vtubing at some point. The only problem was what to do for keeping the character within character, since some fans will not like them adventuring outside an expected box. The current vtubbing platforms, be Cover or the other, have much more creative flexibility than what this can have. And it's no dice if it's a closed chat and comments, as vtubbing success requires fan and hater interaction.
