It's me again, here for another personal blog about my missing goddamn birthday merch.
I managed to get a redelivery scheduled for today. I had to work and couldn't call out on this weekend of all weekends so I had to have a friend come over and play mailman watch. The mailman came and went, no package, just mail. He told my friend sometimes he makes a return trip, since he usually does letters first on foot, the drives the clown car around delivering packages. I believed this since it wouldn't be the first time, but I got suspicious. Checked USPS, no status change. Still listed as redelivery requested, no status update saying it had been sent back out. Now more suspicious, I used google and tracked down the japanese tracking number. It is listed as ON ITS WAY BACK TO FUCKING CUSTOMS. It was scanned as outbound at 2am, July 3rd. I saw this today at 3PM July 2nd, while I was at work. So someone at the post office decided not only were they going to fuck everything up, they were going to fudge it in the process. Especially since it isn't even supposed to be sent back to customs until the 5th.
I swallowed my pride and called a friend I haven't talked to in years, who thankfully still works at USPS and has even climbed the ladder a bit. Says he can't really do much until tuesday since they're still closed for the 4th on monday, but that as soon as he gets in he should be able to figure out what the hell went wrong, and that my package should stay in customs for a while anyway. Given my luck so far, I'm half expecting it to skip the usual process and get shipped back to japan as soon as they get it. If that happens I dunno what I'll do. Contact geekjack, see if they can get it sent back again? I'll pay triple shipping for all I care, I just want the birthday merch. I don't even think they can replace it because it's the full set with the postcard that she wrote her message in, and all the merch was made to order to begin with.
In conclusion, I'm losing my fucking mind and at this point I don't care if the mug arrives in a million pieces. I just want that postcard. I just want to read the words she wrote. I just want the mailman to do his fucking job. Thanks for reading my blog. Also I'm out $1100 for the converter.
