>>27380589 but as Coco she definitely said (paraphrasing) "I don't think I would join any company," but it was more about avoiding mentioning her future as Kson, and keep Kiryu Coco separate, as was her duty at the time. I don't think the words "I promise" were ever used, but I guess enough people heard it that way, or want to remember it that way.
As Kson it's barely come up, but the attitude was that she was doing everything she wanted so far, and didn't see a need for it. Again, it's fair to say there is no big "promise", but I'm not making excuses either, because I understand how people can hear it that way if they want to.
>>27380729I have no doubt that money is nice, but Kson wasn't desperate, judging by how much she spent on her 3D alone. Most things in life are multi-causal. So in addition to money, other factors here are probably:
1. Less difficulty getting sponsorships, working with services companies, etc. as other people in the thread have pointed out.
2. She has always wanted to find a way to help vtubers, as a profession, as a cultural force. I suspect being able to experiment under the umbrella of an "agency" that is less top-down than an all-encompassing "entertainment company", has some appeal in exploring those goals further.
3. As much as the "Kson friends" have been an informal crew, getting to be part of a JP branch gives her a crew to riff off of, lore-wise, stream commentary, and collab with more often. I expect she'll still collab with anyone she wants, but it probably feels more accessible to discuss/joke about someone under the same umbrella than, say, bringing up 18go or Yura out of nowhere.
