Burgers above average for fast food at a reasonable price. The fries arent anything special. In and out sucks compared to not fast food burgers but its like a third the price of 5guys or insert local joint here.

I just tried in-and-out (in texas) a while back.
for the price the burger isn't bad, But you are right, you need to get the fries animal style or they are bland as fuck.
The only issue is, is that you can go to a mom and pop shop and get a burger double the size here and get amazing fries with it too for around the same size.

yeah mom and pop burger joints are rare in LA, so in-n-out stands out. also they usually have their own parking lot which is a big plus here.

Yes but it objectively tastes better in states that aren't Cali, no I don't know why because it's not like they use a different ingredient supplier.
The fries have always been bland though, the burgers are the only reason to go.

What these anons said is spot on. It's not amazing food compared to other food, but it's pretty great compared to other fast food for the price. They also always give their buildings a bright & open aesthetic which is very California-beach-y. The menu is also pretty simple, which is nice when you don't know what you want. A lot of people really love In-N-Out, and it's not because it gives you like a five star restaurant experience, it's just because they do what they do very well.
