The whole point of life is to replicate yourself so that your life doesn't truly end with you. If that's not an option, all the money you get, and therefore all the things you can set in motion for that goal, are worth nothing. Might as well spite your fate by tossing it all at someone you can never pursue yet feel significant fondness for, misguided or otherwise. It's not like anything about you is worth anything, anyway.
